Salvation

YOU were created with value and worth to God.   Did you know...
God loves you and created you to have a personal relationship with Him.

God Created You:

In Psalm 139:13-14 the Bible says, "For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."

God Loves You:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16).
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”  (John 15:13)

God Wants You To Know Him:

"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." (John 17:3).

Our sin keeps us from having a personal relationship with God.

What Is Sin:

Sin is the violation of the law of God either by sins of commission or sins of  omission. Examples of both are found in the ten commandments

A sin of commission would be taking the Name of the Lord in vain. “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.”  (Exodus 20:7)

A sin of omission would be neglecting to honor your parents. “Honour thy father and thy mother; that thy days may be long upon the land which thy God giveth thee.”  (Exodus 20:12,13), “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." (James 4:17).

You see, God is holy and perfect . . . and we are not. Sin not only means doing wrong or failing to do all that God wants. Sin is also our attitude of ignoring or rejecting God. Because God is holy, He cannot accept our sin. “For thou only art Holy.”  (Rev. 15:4)  “Be ye holy, for I am holy”  (1 Peter 1:15)

Who Has Sinned:

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God..." (Romans 3:23)

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no , not one:  There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.  They are all gone out of the way, they are all together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no , not one”  (Romans 3:10-12)

“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”  (Isaiah 53:5)

What Happens When We Sin:

"But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear." (Isaiah 59:2). "For the wages of sin is death..." (Romans 6:23)
Sin causes a gap between God and us. Death, which in these verses means eternal separation from God, is the penalty for our sin.

What Happens to sinners without Christ?

They go to hell for eternal punishment without any hope of future escape.

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”  (Revelation 21:8)

Only through Jesus Christ can you have a personal relationship with God.

Why Jesus Christ:

In John 14:6 Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

It is only through Jesus Christ that we can have a relationship with God.

Why Did Jesus Christ Have To Die:

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:" (1 Peter 3:18).

“And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”  (Hebrews 9:22)

Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins, so we might be forgiven.

Why Did Jesus Christ Rise From The Dead:

"Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures... He was buried... He rose again the third day according to the scriptures... He was seen of above five hundred brethren at once." (1 Corinthians 15:3-6).

“O death, where is thy sting?  O grave, where is thy victory?  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”  (1 Cor 1:55-57)

“Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.”  (Ephesians 4:8)

Jesus Christ rose from the dead to defeat Satan, Sin and Death.  He did this to give us eternal life.

You must personally respond by trusting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

You Respond With Faith and Trust In Christ:

In Ephesians 2:8-9 the Bible says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

You Respond By Turning To God From Sin:

"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out..." (Acts 3:19).

You Respond By Receiving Christ:

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God..." (John 1:12).

Receiving Christ Means:

Turning to God from your own way of living (repentance).

Inviting Christ to come into your life and trusting Him to forgive your sin.

Allowing God to direct your life. Receiving Jesus Christ is not just an emotional experience; nor is it just agreeing in your mind that Jesus is the Son of God. It means total trust.

Where would you place yourself in the following illustration?

Where would you like to be?

You can begin your personal relationship with God by receiving Jesus Christ as Savior.

You Can Express Your Faith (Trust) Through Prayer:

Prayer is simply talking to God. He knows what you mean, even when you find it difficult to express yourself. You may use the following words or your own.

Dear God, I know that my sin has separated me from You and condemned me to hell. Thank You that Jesus Christ died in my place. I ask Jesus to forgive my sin and to come into my life. Please take control of my life. I repent of my sins and now place my trust in You for my salvation.  Thank You for giving me eternal life. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Can you say this to God and mean it?

If you can, pray right now and trust Jesus to forgive your sin and come into your life, as He promised.

Your trust in Jesus Christ begins a lifelong relationship.

God Commits Himself To You

God assures you that Jesus Christ has come into your life. In John 14:20, Jesus says, ". . . I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you."

God will never leave you. "...for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." (Hebrews 13:5).

God completely forgives your sin. "And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us. . ." (Colossians 2:13-14).

God assures you that you have eternal life. "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." (1 John 5:13).

God gives you His Holy Spirit to enable you to live the Christian life. "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit" (Galatians 5:25).

Wouldn't you like to stop and thank God that Christ is in your life and will never leave you?

“He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”  (John 5:24)

To keep growing in your relationship with God . . .

G-- Go to God daily in prayer ( Philippians 4:6-7).

R-- Read the Bible every day ( 2 Timothy 3:14-17).

O-- Obey God moment by moment ( Luke 6:46-48).

W-- Worship regularly after being baptizing and joining a local Baptist church ( Hebrews 10:24-25).

T -- Tell others about Jesus Christ ( 1 Peter 3:15-16).

H -- Holy Spirit--let Him direct your life ( John 14:26).

Now you can share your most important relationship.

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10).

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, please let us know.
